Hey all, I'm a new poster and I have some things on my mind. I'm in an unhappy situation with my baby girl's father. We live togather but I'm ready to go. I'm terrofied that he will take her away from me. What rights do I have as a mother? Obviousely there is a whole lot to my relationship, but he is putting a lot of things in my mind that have me turned upside down. All I want to do is hold my baby and cry because I'm so scared that if I leave, he will take her away from me. He holds things over my head because I'm young, I'm a college student, I don't work, and as a teen I made bad choices. We have a big age gap, so he makes me feel like he's the better parent.
Someone please shed some light on me, it would kill me if he got custody. He is not a very good person.
Anything helps,
cadysmommy

Can you afford a lawyer? I would call someone practicing family law and ask what your rights are. I can't believe a judge would just award custody to a father at that young age of your daughter. Seek counsel and ask them asap so you will be prepared to do what you have to do. God bless!
