It is the women's dependency on man that is always an issue---as far as we have gotten it is there. That is why I am critical of joint custody. Joint custody statues increase men's rights at divorce and their strength in bargaining when dealing with women--- making women more vulnerable. They have a hold.

I believe who ever was primary caretaker during the marriage should remain so after divorce.THIS is in the best interest of the children. Consistency is important. Both the children and the primary caretaker are closely bonded. That bond should not be broken.True this person is usually Mom .If dad wants more time with the children after divorce .Let him contribute more parenting time and chore time during the marriage...Its also fair to the parent who did the most. When dads get shared or more time with children ,mostly it is new g.f or wife who does most of the work .Why should a mom share custody time with a Stepmom? The child is suppose to be with the two BIO parents!
