My son (Cool has been diagnosed with ADHD. His father has been away in the
military and very recently he and I divorced. When Jacob was diagnosed, my
ex-husband fought me on my choice to medicate our son. My son (and daughter -
who doesn't have ADHD) have lived with me for the entirety of their lives. A
judge recently granted 50% joint custody to my ex-husband, based solely on the
fact that he was away in the military. My son needs stability and structure,
and my ex-husband (living with his parents and unemployed) cannot offer this. I am very
fearful that this may cause great damage and ruin any progress my son has been
able to make.
Can I appeal? Should I?
This legal process is killing me financially.
Crying or Very sad

How recent was the court order? Yes you can appeal, but only in a certain time period from when the court order was modified.

Do you know why the judge gave your ex 50/50? How old is your son? Is your ex going to be leaving for active duty anywhere anytime soon?

Did you have a lawyer? If not get one! Who is with the child when dad can't watch the child?

Answer these questions and I can help a bit more.
