Hey Ladies,

I am currently pregnant, and the father of my baby called today and told me he is going to take full custody of the child when it is born. I am not with the father and don't want to be. I also live two hours away from him. He wants the child to live with him, while allowing me visitation rights, when I want physical custody of the baby. How do I protect myself from him trying to gain custody? I live in Montana if this makes any difference.

To the post about a Father threatening you with taking full custody of the unborn baby. Don't fret, he is trying to intimidate you. First off, don't put him on the birth certificate, make him pay for a paternity test. Then, once that is proven, unless he can prove you an unfit mother, you all will get awarded joint custody with him having standard visitation and him paying child support. Oh by the way, get him to carry the health insurance on the child and 1/2 of all medical cost (to include dental, vision and prescriptions). Also, make him provide you with a $100K life insurance policy in the event he passes away, so you can provide for his child.

Trust me, he will regret threatening you. Make sure though, that you are being a good mom, otherwise, put another feather in the Father's Rights Groups hat.

Good luck!
