Hi, I'm Dina.

I am mom to two wonderful daughters Danielle 30 and Michelle 27. Danielle is a single mom to 3 year old Jordan.

She is what prompted me to join this board. I really need some support and I need to learn how to relax. My daughter's situation has my stomach in knots and I am getting way more headaches than normal.

Danielle's ex-husband lost his job about a year and a half ago. He hasn't paid child support in a year. He has visitation with her every Tuesday night to Wednesday night and every other weekend. He lives with his parents. He is 38. Beyond the visitation agreement, when he asks if she can stay overnight and he'll drive her to daycare, Danielle always says yes and when it's his birthday or her other grandparents' birthdays and they want her that day, she never denies them access.

My daughter works very hard but just recently she admitted to me and her dad (my ex) that she is in financial trouble big time. She couldn't pay her bills. Her dad and I are doing whatever we can to help. He lives in Texas and I am in Florida. We always come together when our daughters need us.

This is just an introduction so I don't want to make this intro any longer than necessary.

I'm hoping to obtain some advice and learn how I can help my daughter and granddaughter. Just recently I started paying for childcare. It's difficult for me financially, but I'm doing what I can do and my ex is doing what he can do, and Danielle is trying hard to make money in a difficult economy.

Thanks for listening.

Dina in Florida

Where does your daughter live? And she could take him back to court for contempt so that her ex is forced to look for work and report it to the courts so that he can begin paying current support and arrears.

My daughter lives in Florida too. Her attorney gave her two documents to take to the courthouse to garnish his unemployment check to get half.

She was supposed to be in court tomorrow because he wanted to modify his child support amount but for some reason he cancelled that.
