I'm due anyday now and have not heard from the father in months. Although I want a father for my child, I feel we'd be better off without him. Do I put his name on the birth certificate? Do I send him a birth announcement? Please help.

Do not put his name on birth certificate. If he wants nothing to do with you and your child my advice to you is to raise your hands to heaven and thank God for it. Why send him a birth announcement? With all the problems mothers are having with keeping custody of their children, please be very careful. Fathers rights groups have made it almost impossible for any mother to keep her child, it no longer matters if fathers are abusive, violent men the courts are giving them custody. It no longer matters what the child wants, because of fathers rights groups the laws are being changed in their favor, and the best interest of the child no longer exists.

Exactly what Barbara just said! I am sure you had your baby by now, as it is JULY already and you posted in April, hopefully you didn't put his name on the BC. Congratulations
