I have two wonderful girls that I have been raising myself for three years after their father walked out and abandoned us. He is a drug addict that uses cocaine, meth and crack. He used every bit of savings before he left leaving us to starve. He lied about something to get out paying child support, was caught just recently, and now won't disclose his employer. He is protected from the union. He is now suing me for full custody. My lawyer tells me the chances are slim that he'll get them but he doesn't know what a judge will do. He makes seven times as much money as I do, which is why he lied in the child support hearing. I am terrified that I am going to lose my girls. I am in a small area with people I don't trust. The enforcement officer said there is nothing I can do to him because he lives in another state and therefore can not be forced to pay. I am so tired of being told there is nothing I can do and that I may lose my daughters. I am good mother. I have never abused drugs or alcohol, I don't even smoke. I am graduate student trying to better our lives. I am running low on hope. I must keep my daughters. They are not safe with him. The court aloows him to take them summers across the country with no drug testing, again why I don't trust the system in my town. If anyone has any advice I would be grateful.
