Hello everyone, I am new to this site and I am a single mother and have been for the last 14 years. My son father haven't had any thing to do with him since he was a infant, I started having problems with my son 6 months ago and all of a sudden his father reappears and wanted to step up to the plate. At this time I have four boys and my oldest which is the fourthteen year old was leading his sibling down the wrong path, so me trying to think of all of my kids and not just my oldest decided that I would take the help from his father, and now he don't want me to see my son. No one has sign a agreement or any forms stating that I signed away my rights. I really just don't know what to do. My son wants to come home and I want him to come home. All I wanted was just alittle help to straighten my son out and now I caught up in something thats heartbreaking... I really don't know what to do and I know I have rights but can anyone give me some type of direction, I would appreciate it...

I think I'm missing something. You are saying your son's father has your son and won't let him come home? If you have custody, then simply go and pick him up! If you feel uncomfortable or feel that it will lead to an altercation, have the police escort you when you go and pick him up. If you have custody, no one (not even the father) can just take your son away from you. That is kidnapping - seriously. Especially when the child wants to come home. Maybe I'm missing or misunderstanding something, and if so, please clarify. Good luck!
