Hi all,
I'm a newbie here. I am still married but beginning the process of separation. I've been a stay at home mom for 7 years and want to get myself on a good footing financially before moving out.

I would like to meet other moms interested in platonic partnership, teaming up for social and practical support. If anyone read the recent NYTimes article about single moms, the single biggest issue we struggle with is the economic drawback of supporting a household alone. But team up with another mom or two, and that support is there and the economic burden is lifted. Is anyone on this site interested in exploring a co-mothering partnership in the lower Hudson Valley? I am into Nourishing Traditions, green living, conscious parenting, yoga, meditation. My son is media free and eats pastured meats from the buying cooperative I organize from an organic farmer.

Also, I am really surprised this site has a section devoted to weight loss but none devoted to helping single mothers find other single mother housemate(s). Given the economic situation of many single mothers, this seems like a huge oversight. A forum like this should be able to offer this way of providing practical support to single mothers who can team up and achieve financial stability for their families through partnership. I've emailed the people who run the site; please contact them if you feel this would be a feature that would benefit you. (Co-abode is not searchable).

A full-service site like this is really missing an opportunity to offer women the support they truly need--economic partnership and support, but it must be searchable for a lifestyle match.
